How did WisdomTrees Protection Pendant come to fruition - Serendipity?
I was lucky enough to meet Puma Fredy Quispe Singona at a dinner party and instantly fell in love with his wonderful energy, easy smile, amazing wisdom, and lovely wife!!! I had been looking for advice on how to grow my business WisdomTrees Intentional Living Products and not work quite so hard for some time and sheepishly asked this amazing shaman from Peru if he could make any recommendations. He very kindly did a little bit of intuitive thinking and suggested that I create a new product – but one that would generate a higher percentage of income per item! I went home feeling first very optimistic and then stumped, because after much deliberation, prayer and meditation, I still wasn’t clear on what this new product could be - and then one day…
I was thinking back on everything that has helped me on my own personal journey in terms of cleansing and protection so I asked myself the question, what would I have loved to have had? And then I had one of those wonderful ah ha moments - and the idea just came, I would combine everything I had used and learned about over the years into one item for protection. In my minds eye I suddenly saw an image of the protection pendant begin to take form.
The thoughts I was ruminating on for protection were:
I was remembering how many, many years ago, whenever I felt afraid and the need for protection, I used to draw a six-sided star (star of David) using my finger, on all the windows around my house, it was completely an intuitive impulse and for some unknown reason to me at the time, it seemed to work, I felt much calmer and safer. I recommend trying it.
Then for years I was drawn to and learned all about crystals and gemstones and found that stones such as Tourmaline, Black Obsidian and Black Onyx are excellent for protection and grounding and even today, I still wear Black Obsidian bracelets whenever I do any energy healing work to protect myself from taking in other people energy!
The sound of the mantra Hrim is also very powerful to transform negative energy. Simply repeating the word Hrim over and over until I feel the difference in my space or my being is all I need sometimes. It is also a sound that helps calm my mind, opens my heart and connects me to my true nature where there is no fear!
So these were the basic qualities I wanted to bring into the pendant…
Having never designed jewelry before, I was wondering about my sense and sensibility at the whole idea. However, never being one to just give up on an idea, I decided what the heck, just give it a try, who knows where it might all lead. So back to prayer and meditation for me and I was amazed at how quickly the whole design came together. The combination of the teachings that came for the pendant include Kabbalah, Shamanism and Kashmir Shaivism Tantra:
The outer ring has a very soft and pure feeling and contains the power of the feminine; this is the first layer of protection as the .925 sterling sliver reflects back any negative energy that is directed towards the wearer. (In my view this represents the Sphere Binah from the Kabbalah Tree of Life).
The inner circle houses the power of both the masculine and feminine, depicted by two six-sided stars (also known as the star of David – the yin and yang balanced perspective that comes when all things are in harmony). Both the circles contain the magical power and strength of beauty and love as learned in Kabbalah teachings and The Tree of Life. The inner circle to me represents the sphere Tipheret.
In the center of the pendant is a small black onyx quartz stone, which absorbs and transmutes negative energy. Additionally, the potency of the black onyx provides grounding, strength and alleviates fears and worries. The tiny hole behind the stone allows this energy to connect to the body. These teachings come from Shamanism.
Engraved on the back of the inner circle is the symbol Hrim from the Kashmir Shaivism Tantric tradition. This symbol not only cleanses and purifies negative energy but it also connects us to the more subtle heart frequency energy, which enables us to find and apply love in challenging situations.
In many traditions and teachings, it is said that love is the ultimate protection, and so it is here infused with my personal intention with the energy and light of pure love to help protect the wearer in any situation.
After I had designed the pendant, it just took one conversation in passing with a friend who made the suggestion I contact David Ciralsky at Condesa Jewelry Expertise to render the piece. I am in deep gratitude to David for having created the pendant with the quality, the energy and the beauty that I had hoped for. On another recommendation, I asked Gala Bouras to take pictures of the pendant and much to my amazement she chose snow as the backdrop to the image – reason for my amazement is that when I first felt the energy of the pendant, in my vision I saw these tiny little brilliant white snowflakes come from the sphere Binah on the tree of life, through Tipheret to Malchut!!! I love moments of magical serendipity such as this and grateful to Gala for capturing the essence of the pendant. Thank you.
Why Protect: Negative emotions such as stress, anger, hate, anxiety, depression, fear etc. are all factors that create a cloud of negative energy which surrounds us all in every day life. It is important to create some form of protection around us in order to keep our own energy as clear as possible so that we can be more focused, grounded and have greater clarity in daily life.
